When I 1st saw the message that you had passed, I simply & quickly pushed it aside, refusing to believe it. I kept hoping another message would come, apologising that the 1st was a terrible mistake.
Alas, no such message came. And painfully, I had to accept the finality of it all.
You were a gentleman to the core, neat, soft-spoken, loyal, articulate, stylish, intelligent & genuinely good-hearted.
I saw you only this year at Toyeeb’s birthday praise at Pastor Itua’s church. I was leaving as you were arriving. We greeted warmly, as we always did, with our familiar backslapping. Little did I know that I was saying my final goodbye.
And Tope Sadiq was there too that day, looking so stylish in immaculate white & dancing joyfully to the praise songs. How painfully strange life can be.
Just this year, we have lost 3 mutual friends, Yemi Roberts, Tope Sadiq & now you. What is this, my brother?
My heart goes out to your dear wife, Nike, your 3 kids, family, friends & all who loved you. How does one even begin to comprehend such a loss?
I am truly short of words. I am deeply pained.
May your gentle soul find eternal rest.
Sail on, my dear bro. You will be sorely missed.
I commiserate with Nike, your children & the entire family. May God grant everyone you left behind the strength to bear this unbearable loss.
Adieu, Thaddeus.
Till your resurrection morning.
