MERAIAH EKEINDE’S LAGOS WEDDING BECKONS! A dazzling DECEMBER DATE AT THE MONARCH

Meraiah Ekeinde weds

Love, family, fashion & a touch of Yuletide glamour as Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde & Captain Matthew prepare to celebrate their daughter’s big day.

December in Lagos has a way of bringing out the city’s appetite for celebration. But this year, Tuesday, December 22, promises a particularly special occasion as Meraiah Ekeinde, the gorgeous daughter of Nollywood royalty Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde & her husband, Captain Matthew Ekeinde, prepares to exchange vows with the man who has won her heart.

The venue is The Monarch Event Centre, Lagos, the elegant events destination owned by Olori Sekinat Elegushi, wife of His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Elegushi, Kusenla III. And with the wedding date now on the calendar, anticipation is quietly building around what promises to be one of the season’s most talked-about family celebrations.

Meraiah, 26, is the 2nd daughter & 3rd-born child of the celebrated Ekeinde household. Born on February 6, 2000, she has carved out her own professional identity in the US, where she is based in Los Angeles, California. A beauty model, fashion merchandiser & apparel product developer, she belongs to a generation of young women navigating fashion, business & personal ambition on their own terms.

Yet, for all her professional pursuits, it is love that now takes centre stage.

Her parents, Omotola, affectionately known to generations of fans as OmoSexy or OmoT, & Captain Matthew have 4 children: Princess, 29; Captain E, also known as MJ, 28; Meraiah, 26; & Michael, 24. The forthcoming nuptials will mark a significant 1st for the family: the 1st wedding among their children. One can only imagine the emotions that will accompany this milestone for parents who have watched their children grow from childhood into adulthood.

And who is the man at the heart of this romantic chapter? Manny, a handsome groom-to-be from Anambra State, who is preparing to begin forever with Meraiah. Their wedding tag, #MxM26, is already a neat little signature for the occasion. And no, before you ask, it isn’t the title of a new movie! Lol!

Preparations are reportedly gathering momentum, even as the couple appears inclined towards keeping the celebration relatively private. The all-important aso ebi is said to be in the works, with rose gold emerging as the colour whispered in the early snippets making the rounds. If that turns out to be the final choice, it is easy to imagine a sophisticated palette of warm metallic hues, understated opulence & the sort of carefully considered elegance that Lagos celebrations do so well.

But beyond the fashion, the photographs & the inevitable excitement surrounding a celebrity family wedding, there is something rather lovely about the cultural tapestry this marriage brings together.

Captain Matthew’s roots are in Sabongida Ora, Edo State; Omotola’s heritage is Ondo, in the Yoruba heartland; while Manny brings his Anambra roots into the union. Edo, Yoruba & Ibo heritage will converge in one marriage, offering a beautiful reminder of how love crosses cultural boundaries & creates new family histories.

And so, as the countdown to December 22 begins, the Ekeindes have every reason to look forward to a deeply personal celebration: a daughter finding her life partner, a family welcoming a new son, & 2 families preparing to become one.

For Meraiah & Manny, the real story will begin long after the last guest has departed The Monarch, the aso ebi has been folded away & the wedding photographs have found their places in family albums.

Congratulations to Meraiah & Manny. May the love that brings you together mature into friendship, deepen into understanding & endure through every season of life. May your home be filled with laughter, peace, abundance & the quiet, priceless joy of choosing each other, again & again.

December, Lagos is calling. And love has a date at The Monarch.
