QUEEN NAOMI SILEKUNOLA OGUNWUSI: 4 YEARS, A DREAM FULFILLED, A REASON TO CELEBRATE!

Queen Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi

Some victories are measured not by the distance travelled, but by the determination it takes to arrive. For Queen Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi, 4 years have made all the difference.

In 2022, it was like a step into the unfamiliar, perhaps even a leap of faith. In 2026, it is now a dream fulfilled, a chapter completed & a personal triumph worthy of the finest celebration.

4 years. 48 months. Approximately 208 weeks, 1,460 days & 35,040 hours. Time, in its quiet but relentless passage, has brought Queen Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi to a destination she once placed on hold but never quite relinquished: a university degree.

At 33, the elegant prophetess, former queen of Ife & mother of Prince Tadenikawo Ogunwusi, has emerged a graduate of Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, where she pursued a bachelor’s degree in International Relations. And if the destination is gratifying, the journey makes the achievement all the more meaningful.

Naomi’s story has never been one of idle ambition. From a remarkably young age, she had established herself in ministry, founding En-Herald Ministries, an interdenominational Christian ministry that attracted considerable attention. Yet, as often happens in the intricate business of living, one chapter opened into another. Love came, marriage followed, & then motherhood assumed its own beautiful responsibilities.

Her union with His Imperial Majesty, Oba Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni-orisa of Ile-ife, brought a new dimension to her life. In the fullness of those experiences, her academic aspirations receded into the background, awaiting their moment.

But the dream had history. Before enrolling at Elizade University, Naomi had begun her university education at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State. She eventually withdrew to devote herself to full-time ministry. What might have remained an unfinished ambition for some became, for her, a promise to revisit when the time was right.

That time came in the wake of the end of her marriage to the revered monarch. With life taking a different turn, Naomi chose to look forward rather than linger over what had passed. She returned to the classroom, embraced the demands of university life & committed herself to an ambition that had waited long enough.

Today, the result speaks for itself.

There is something particularly admirable about a woman who understands that life’s interruptions need not become its conclusions. Not every aspiration arrives on schedule; not every journey follows a straight line. Sometimes, the finest achievement lies in finding the courage to begin again, with the wisdom of experience & a renewed sense of purpose.

For Naomi, this graduation is therefore more than an academic milestone. It is the fulfilment of a personal aspiration, the satisfaction of closing a chapter on her own terms & the quiet triumph of a woman who chose not to let time have the last word.

Little wonder, then, that the occasion calls for a celebration befitting the moment. We hear that the dress code is “Chic. Easy. Breezy.”, with guests expected to appear in pastel colours. One can readily imagine an atmosphere of understated elegance, warm embraces, affectionate toasts & the unmistakable joy of loved ones gathered to celebrate a milestone that means so much to its principal celebrant.

And there is another reason for the festivities. Her delightful son, Prince Tadenikawo Ogunwusi, will turn 6 on November 18, 2026. His birthday, alongside his mother’s graduation, provides a double blessing & an occasion for shared family joy.

Some may ask why a university degree deserves such an elaborate celebration. The answer is simple: the significance of an achievement is not always captured by the certificate itself. Sometimes, it resides in the years of waiting, the competing demands of life, the courage to return & the determination to see things through.

For a woman who had already experienced the demands of ministry, marriage & motherhood, making room for her own educational ambition & bringing it to fruition is a triumph worth acknowledging. There is no prescribed age for fulfilment, nor is there a deadline beyond which a worthy dream must be abandoned.

And perhaps that is the loveliest lesson in Queen Naomi’s story. Life may change its scenery, relationships may take unexpected turns, & cherished plans may have to wait. Yet, with resolve, what was postponed can still be pursued, & what once seemed unfinished can become a source of profound personal satisfaction.

4 years ago, a decision was made. Today, a dream has a degree to show for it.

Congratulations, Queen Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi. May this achievement be the beginning of even greater possibilities, & may the joy of this moment linger long after the celebrations have ended.

The expected celebration is slated for a date in November of 2026. And location is Akure in Ondo State.
