Wealth is not a function of intelligence or wisdom alone. If it were, some of the brightest minds ever to walk this earth would also have been its richest.
I have met people of considerable wealth &, sometimes, I have been genuinely astonished by their lack of wisdom. I have wondered, quietly: How did this much come to someone with so little understanding of what it means to have it? Perhaps therein lies the mystery of wealth.
Wealth is not merely a privilege. It is a responsibility.
When much is placed in your hands, it is not meant to end there. You have a responsibility to yourself, yes, but also to the people around you, to your community & to the generation that comes after you.
You are, in a sense, a seed. And a seed is never meant to remain a seed forever. It must be planted. It must grow. And when it grows, it must produce something that can feed, shelter, inspire or become another seed.

That, to me, is the true purpose of wealth. Sadly, some people turn their wealth into an instrument of oppression. They use what they have to close doors rather than open them, to diminish others rather than elevate them, & to make people dependent rather than empower them.
They accumulate much, yet leave very little behind. But the truly wealthy person is not merely the one who has money.
The truly wealthy person is the one who makes other people richer in life.
Rich in opportunity.
Rich in knowledge.
Rich in confidence.
Rich in possibilities.
Rich enough to stand on their own feet.
Sometimes, the greatest gift you can give another person is not money, but a chance, an introduction, a platform, a lesson, an opportunity, a word of encouragement, or simply the courage to believe that they, too, can become something.
The moment you realise that you are a fertile ground upon which other seeds must be planted, you begin to understand what wealth truly means.
Because perhaps, at the end of our journey, the question will not be “How much did I have?” It may be: “How much became possible because I had it?”
Wealth in the hands of a wise man becomes a tool for advancement. In the hands of a fool, it can become a weapon of destruction.
And perhaps the finest legacy is not what we leave behind in accounts, properties or possessions, but the lives that became better, stronger & more fruitful because we passed through them.
