2 new Princes for the Ancient Throne! Ile-Ife Erupts in Joy as Olori Mariam Ogunwusi Welcomes her twin Boys.

Ooni-Orisa and wife welcomes a baby boy

The very 1st of maybe many to come.

The ancient city of Ile-Ife, ascribed as the cradle of Yoruba civilization, spiritual heartbeat of a people, & revered source of a timeless royal dynasty, is once again wrapped in celebration, drums, excitement, & delighted whispers from palace corridors to city squares. The House of Ojaja II has welcomed yet 2 royal children, & this time a sons, a princes.

Indeed, it is raining princes & princesses in the royal household of the Ooni-Orisa, the spiritual head of a race!

Olori Mariam Ajibola Ogunwusi, nee Anako, has safely delivered her bambinos, 2 beautiful baby boys, further expanding the rapidly blossoming imperial family of His Imperial Majesty, Ooni-Orisa, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife & custodian of one of Africa’s most storied thrones.

For months, the elegant Kogi-born queen had quietly disappeared from the loud theatre of public attention. No dramatic announcements. No orchestrated spectacle. No endless parade before cameras. In a move that reflected both grace & intentionality, Olori Mariam stepped away from the social scene & from the relentless scrutiny that often trails modern royalty, choosing instead the sacred privacy required to nurture her growing belly in peace.

At the time, there had been murmurs. Speculations. Careful observations whispered across social circles & media spaces alike. We ourselves hinted at the possibility months ago. Now, what was once cautious speculation has unfolded into glorious royal reality.

A new princes of the source have arrived.

And what a profoundly symbolic moment this is for the ever-expanding Ojaja II royal clan.

Expectedly, an avalanche of congratulatory messages has since flooded social media & elite circles, as friends of the palace, traditional institutions, admirers of the monarchy, & well-wishers across Nigeria celebrate with the imperial household.

This latest additions comes 4 years after Olori Mariam’s marriage to the Ooni in 2022, following the end of the monarch’s previous union with Olori Prophetess Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi. When Mariam entered the palace as Kabiyesi’s 4th wife, few could have predicted just how historically significant her arrival would later appear within the evolving narrative of the modern Ooni’s palace.

In many ways, palace watchers often describe her entrance into the royal household as the opening of the floodgates, the defining chapter that ushered in the remarkable expansion of the Ooni’s family structure, in what many traditionalists have linked to prophetic divinations & ancient spiritual declarations surrounding the throne of Oduduwa.

And since her arrival, the royal household has indeed grown in extraordinary leaps & bounds.

There is also a compelling beauty to Olori Mariam’s own story. The Ebira-born queen, who reportedly once worked with Nestoil before ascending into royalty, has steadily carved her own graceful identity within one of Africa’s most culturally symbolic monarchies. Never unnecessarily loud, yet never absent in significance, she has maintained an aura of calm elegance, diplomacy, & quiet influence within the palace ecosystem.

Now, with the birth of her sons, her place within the evolving history of the Ojaja II dynasty becomes even more deeply etched.

For the Ooni himself, charismatic, globally visible, spiritually symbolic, & unapologetically committed to preserving the relevance of traditional institutions in a rapidly changing world, the arrival of another twin boys represents not merely personal joy, but also continuity: the extension of lineage, heritage, ancestry, & the enduring preservation of one of Africa’s most iconic royal bloodlines.

And so today, Ile-Ife rejoices.

The palace rejoices.

The throne of Oduduwa rejoices.

Once again, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to His Imperial Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, & to Olori Mariam Ajibola Ogunwusi on the arrival of their beautiful princes.

May the royal barn forever overflow.
May the palace continually know laughter & peace.
May the newborn prince grow in wisdom, strength, grace, & divine favour.
And may the ancient throne of the source continue to flourish for generations yet unborn.

A glorious season indeed for the House of Ojaja II.
