A deep hush has settled over Lagos high society & its ancient royal circles with the passing of Otunba Adekunle Ojora, a towering son of the soil & a distinguished prince of Lagos, drawn from the revered Ojora & Adele Royal lineages, a lineage historically eligible to ascend the throne of the Oba of Lagos. He passed on peacefully (after a brief illness) at the ripe & dignified age of 93.
Born in 1932, Otunba Ojora lived a life defined by pedigree, purpose, & presence. For decades, he stood as a colossus in the boardroom, measured, insightful, &:commanding, earning the respect of peers & protégés alike.
He was a bridge between the old-world elegance of Lagos aristocracy & the modern corridors of power, carrying himself with a quiet nobility that never sought the spotlight, yet could not be ignored.
He was married to the elegant Erelu Ojuolape Ojora, with whom he built a family rooted in values, service, & distinction. Among his children is Mrs. Toyin Saraki, former First Lady of Kwara State & wife of former Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Bukola Saraki, a reflection of the family’s enduring imprint on national life.
Otunba Adekunle Ojora leaves behind a rich human legacy: children, grandchildren, & great-grandchildren, each carrying fragments of his name, his values, & his history. His passing marks not just the end of a long & fulfilled life, but the gentle closing of a significant chapter in Lagos’ royal & social narrative.
He lived fully, gave generously, & exited gracefully.
May his noble soul find eternal rest,
& may the light he carried continue to shine through generations.
