Ours is a friendship that goes back a few years, thanks to a mutual friend, Cleopatra, a gorgeous, fiercely loyal lady named after the legendary Egyptian queen. And I am so glad our paths crossed!
Ezinne is not just a dear friend; she is also my birthday mate. We share August 17, & what a special soul she is!
Kind-hearted, fiercely authentic & effortlessly stylish, Ezinne is one of Nigeria’s most compelling voices in fashion, with a place among Africa’s finest. She understands style intimately & wears it with an individuality & aplomb that are entirely her own.
But there is something else I admire deeply about her: her unwavering commitment to Nigerian fashion. She believes in our designers, champions their creativity & proudly puts her money, voice & influence behind the brands she believes deserve to shine. That kind of conviction is both admirable & refreshing.
And whenever I see this gorgeous lady, be ready for fun unlimited! My recent visit was no exception.
I left with a fabulous outfit by nonetheless @nkwo, a brand I have loved since the early 2000s, because the brand owner is someone I know & admire to the stratosphere. Naturally, I am claiming it as my belated birthday present, &, honestly, it was absolutely worth the wait!
There was wine, a delicious plate of seafood pasta from Circa, plenty of laughter & that lovely feeling of being in the company of someone you genuinely enjoy.
Ezinne, I love you loads! Thank you for being you, a beautiful soul, a loyal friend & a fearless champion of Nigerian creativity.
