Delayed gratification is like the gradual (but continuous) gathering of moisture into the clouds. At 1st, it seems invisible. Nothing dramatic appears to be happening. Yet, with time, that silent accumulation eventually breaks forth as a mighty downpour.
That is how life often works.
There are acts of kindness, goodwill, generosity, & sacrifice that may not attract an immediate response. At times, it may even appear as though they have gone unnoticed. But nothing done in sincerity is ever truly wasted. The responses are not absent, they are simply accumulating.
The law of motion teaches that every action produces a corresponding reaction, which is equal & opposite. Likewise, the timeless principle of sowing & reaping reminds us that you cannot sow & not reap. Such an outcome would be contrary to the very laws of nature & of God. Creation itself was designed to reproduce after its own kind.
When you sow into the matrix, the womb of life, it is destined to bring forth according to the nature of the seed planted. Yet there is another equally important principle: the quality of the ground.
Not every soil is fertile. Sandy, Rocky, etc…
It is therefore not enough to possess good seed; you must also be discerning enough to plant it in good ground. When both the seed & the soil are right, the harvest comes in measures, 30fold, 60fold, 100fold, & sometimes even beyond. The richness of the harvest is often determined by the quality of the ground that received the seed.
If you follow the principles that govern sowing & reaping, your seed is never truly lost. More importantly, the harvest is never merely equal to what was sown. Nature multiplies. Heaven multiplies.
But be very careful also, that you don’t give having the mindset that Most pure, most Holy God Almighty & impartial God is a kalokalo (casino) who must multiply. It all has to do with the laws of God, which are righteous! Therefore, if you sow with the wrong intent, you ll get your just recompense.
That is why every genuine act of goodness eventually returns in greater measure.
Yet we must also understand the different kinds of seeds. Every seed reproduces after its own kind. You cannot plant beans & expect corn. Neither can you sow beetroot & hope to harvest broccoli or carrot.
Financial seeds would produce financial returns. Love sown returns as love. Honour begets honour. Mercy attracts mercy. Hard work produces results. Excellence reproduces excellence.
Some seeds germinate quickly. Others remain hidden beneath the soil for what feels like an eternity before they emerge. But once certain trees begin to bear fruit, they continue to do so season after season, year after year.
There are also seeds whose fruits contain even more seeds. The initial harvest becomes the beginning of another planting season. That is how increase happens.
The more seeds wisely planted, the greater the harvest. Every healthy seed carries within itself the potential for multiplication. From every harvest comes a portion to enjoy, a portion to save, a portion to give, & another portion to sow again. That is the divine cycle of abundance.
So if you have sown in this season & have not yet seen your harvest, do not conclude that your labour has been in vain. Delay is not denial. There may simply be factors still at work.
Did you sow good seed? Did you plant it in fertile ground? Did you nurture what you planted by watering, protecting, pruning, and remaining faithful to the process?
Harvest is not determined by planting alone, but also by stewardship.
If you have been diligent, faithful, & unwavering, then by divine & natural law, your harvest is inevitable. The laws governing sowing & reaping were ordained by God Himself. Heaven stands behind them. They cannot fail.
May our seeds be good. May they fall upon fertile ground. May we possess the wisdom to nurture what God has placed in our hands.
May we have the patience to wait through every season until harvest arrives.
And above all, may we eat the fruit of our labour in good health, lasting peace, & enduring prosperity.
For as the Scriptures remind us, “The labourer sower) is worthy of his wages (harvest).” Whoever faithfully works deserves to enjoy the reward of that labour.
May none of our efforts be in vain. May we all reap abundantly from every good seed we have sown.
