It was fun. It was bliss. It was refreshing. It was one of those rare trips that quietly sneaks into your heart and refuses to leave.
Yes, it was officially a work assignment. The schedule was gruelling enough to make anyone ask for a timeout, yet somehow, every single day felt like a gift. Every meeting, every drive through the city, every conversation, every laugh, every discovery reminded me why I accepted this assignment in the 1st place.
Miss it? Not for all the tea in China.
And if you are asking whether I’ll be back to Lusaka, the answer is simple: many times over. That, I can promise.
As I prepare to head home to Lagos…jump, I honestly don’t feel like someone leaving a foreign country. It feels more like I’m stepping away from home on a brief sojourn, fully expecting to return before long. That’s just how deeply Lusaka embraced me.
One of the greatest treasures of this journey wasn’t just the place, it was the people. What beautiful souls!
I’ve been tempted over & over again to begin mentioning names, but experience has taught me that the danger with such an exercise is not in those you mention, but in that one wonderful person you may accidentally leave out. And I would hate for anyone to think they weren’t appreciated. So permit me this sweeping embrace.
To every man. To every woman. To every young person. To every elder.
To everyone who smiled, encouraged, supported, advised, welcomed, laughed with us, worked with us or simply wished us well…
Thank you.
You were all absolutely the bomb ! May God continue to bless every one of you beyond your expectations.
Now, if you’ve been wondering what exactly Lusaka was all about, let me satisfy your curiosity.
As the humbled, but immensely proud, COO ‘Chief Operating Officer’ of what I proudly describe as Nigeria’s, & indeed Africa’s, premier fashion & lifestyle platform, @fashionevostyle, I had the privilege of being part of an extraordinary mission to Lusaka, Zambia.
Not just any mission. A mission of collaboration. A mission of possibilities. A mission of impact.
A mission that brought together again FashionEVO & the phenomenal added your own unique colour to this unforgettable canvas.
So now the obvious question…Where are we conquering next?
Madagascar?🇲🇬 Morocco? 🇲🇦Senegal? 🇸🇳
Ghana? 🇬🇠Kenya? 🇰🇪
Or perhaps another beautiful corner of Africa waiting patiently for FashionEVO to arrive?
Time, as always, will tell. Until then…
Enjoy these pictures of me, as I strike my best poses & let Kool Moe Dee ask the question on my behalf…
“How Ya Like Me Now?”
Lusaka…Thank you for the memories. Thank you for the love.
Thank you for reminding me that sometimes, the places we travel to for work end up restoring parts of us we didn’t even know needed healing.
Until we meet again…
Twalumba. Zikomo kwambiri. See you soon.
