So, the countdown has officially begun!
In a little over 30 days, August 17, to be more precise, I will be celebrating another birthday. But before that beautiful day arrives, I decided to announce my intentions to the universe the only way I know how… by stepping out dripping in confidence, wrapped in undeniable vibes, & looking every inch the part.
And yes, these absolutely amazing pants by @ejiroamostafiri deserve a standing ovation! They’ve been collecting compliments all over Lusaka like they’re on a mission. Everywhere I turn, someone has something wonderful to say. I couldn’t be happier. Thank you all!
Now, here’s the part that has me laughing the hardest…
Quite a number of people here simply refuse to believe I’m in my 50s, my middle 50s, for that matter. Instead, they’ve settled on a far more entertaining theory: that my growing white hair must have been sprayed or painted on just to complete the whole stylish vibe! I am not that foolishly vain…
Honestly? I’ll take that every single day of the week. If that’s the verdict, then I plead gloriously guilty. Please this silver fox says, don’t stop the compliments, they’re growing me in reverse!
Lusaka has been an absolute delight. Beautiful people, warm hearts, genuine hospitality, & unforgettable moments. This city has embraced me in ways that have made this trip far more special than I imagined.
As my time here gradually winds down, I can’t help feeling a little nostalgic already. It’s always difficult saying goodbye to a place that has welcomed you so so warmly.
But until that moment comes…
I’ll keep showing up, smiling broadly, living fully, serving effortless style, & carrying enough swagger (chutzpah) to last me all the way to August 17… & far beyond.
Life, after all, is far too beautiful not to wear with confidence.
